In the heart of one of China’s most distinguished shopping district, Hong Yi Plaza is an electrifying urban center with a design influenced by New York’s Time Sqaure. The distinct contemporary design is located in China’s largest commercial center in Shanghai amongst the historic buildings of Nanjing Road. The graceful oval shaped tower contains twenty one office floors on top of seven levels of entertainment and middle to upper class retail space for many international retailers.

The office tower facade is intentionally illuminated from within. Linear fluorescent asymmetric uplights are integrated into curtain wall skin to uplight the interior ceiling at the buildings edge. When viewed from below the outer glass facade appears to glow when in reality it is simply the interior ceilings. The lights serve dual purpose by providing interior ambient light for the workspace.
